I don't the question should be focus to Thailand's ability to achieve peace. It's just a matter of time that they would because everyone have their own definition of peace. Does peace refer to the stability of political turmoil in Thailand? Does peace is defined as to the satisfaction of majority and not to the minority doesn't? In what scope would peace be defined? Everyone can give their own opinions, but in general, we all do know that peace can be achieve, it's just a matter of time.

For the time being, in Thailand, there are two groups of community

Red - Thaksin's loyalist especially from northern side of Thailand
Yellow - Anti-Thaksin who said to fight for the king, generally most from Bangkok

Abhisit Vejjajiva make his easy way to premiership after two of Thaksin's allies being ousted by the court. The King would not involved directly as it would be worse if the King choose sides.

For the time being, the situation might cause a regional tension around ASEAN, since Malaysia has its own problem, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines have their own problems too.

Therefore, we just wait and see on what would happen in the next few weeks.

The problem in Thailand is very similar to Indonesia's political scenario couple of years back. All fall out after Thaksin was force to quit as PM. Probably because they are not so many qualified politicians to take over from him, they seem to vote for anyone they think best to occupy the vacant seat. Samak is no favorite to Thai's people, yet he become the PM. Then come the next one, also rejected by the opposition party. I see how powerful their opposition is. But now they have a new PM, elected through democracy. Hopefully thing will settle down to the best that we can hope.

*at first i thought it was Malaysia..I'm dead wrong!*

Alrite..about politic storms up further north of Malaysia (Malaysia also having this, but I'm not bias to anyone..)..from Thaksin Shinawatra's scandals..to military coup..hmmm..

but I believe Thailand will have peace later on...because every civilization of mankind have their own peak, and also their turmoil too..

just look at Europe and its Dark Ages, they regain bites during Renaissance...so is Islam ages where the last one is the Ottoman empire (or Uthmaniah)...where it turn chaotic and destroyed...

anyone wanna say anything?...btw correct me if I'm wrong..
